The seminar, the first of this series, was organised jointly by the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy and the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission.

It aimed to review the current situation of the transport system in the Adriatic-Ionian Region, the existing infrastructure and non-infrastructure bottlenecks which prevent its effective functioning, starting from the Priority Actions and Sub-actions endorsed by the Thematic Steering Group – Connecting the Region (TSG2). The seminar also aimed to propose a preliminary list of recommended action/project ideas having a macro-regional added value.
