State Aid in Energy Projects
on 21 June 2016 09:00-17:00
Venue: Hotel Crowne Plaza Brussels - Rue Gineste 3 , 1210 Brussels
All Member States plan to invest ESI Funds in projects in energy infrastructure, renewables and energy efficiency schemes. All these investments, of course, need to be compatible with the internal market rules and should not distort competition. However, State aid issues are frequently raised by Managing Authorities as a concern during both conception and implementation of their support schemes in this area.
Taking into account this background, the European Commission has taken the initiative to assist colleagues from national authorities on state aid issues. As a practical contribution, the European Commission services organised a seminar on State Aid in Energy Projects in Brussels on June 21st, 2016.
The seminar was dedicated to practitioners involved in the management of the ESI Funds with the purpose to provide them with concrete and practical examples on how to deal with State aid in the energy sector. The seminar was interactive and hands-on, dealing with concrete cases and exchanging good practices and lessons learnt in order to provide pragmatic ideas and solutions.
